A social-employment network designed to connect job seekers, employees and employers in the trucking industry was introduced July 17 by Trucking Now, Woodbridge, Conn.

Dubbed ChatterStack, the system provides a way for trucking firms to recruit and retain drivers. For carriers, the network delivers geo-targeted advertising messages to drivers and also includes what the company calls advanced screening features.

Trucking Now said the system allows employers to stay connected with their current team while giving fleet managers the opportunity to connect with and screen new job candidates.

For driver users, the system will find truck driving jobs that match their specific criteria while streamlining application submissions to multiple employers, the company said. Drivers can also use the service stay in touch with fellow drivers.

According to company founder Paul Still, drivers who come to a company after being referred by an existing employee are more likely to join the company. In a press release announcing the new service, he said ChatterStack creates the kind of support system that helps retain drivers. “Recruiters gain a ready-made network of referrals from the current drivers,” he said.

The company said there is no charge for users to maintain a professional profile on ChatterStack and connecting to other drivers. For companies listing positions on ChatterStack, the first posting is free with an option to promote companies and job openings on the site for an additional fee.

The company said that invoicing and subscription packages are available for companies, brokers and agents wishing to purchase listings in bulk.
