Navman Adds eLogs and Electronic Inspection Forms

New options available with Navman Wireless help streamline compliance reporting, the company announced June 10. The company’s OnlineAVL2 vehicle tracking system now includes an electronic driver log and driver vehicle inspection report forms that can be filed electronically either online or with the Navman M-Nav 800 in-cab display terminal.
The company said automating these compliance tasks reduces paperwork and increases driver productivity while also providing back-office visibility of drivers’ hours-of-service status and possible vehicle maintenance issues.
The DVIR option utilizes an automated workflow process that makes sure drivers complete their inspection reports. Navman says this helps ensure proper documentation for roadside inspections, fewer roadside-related driver violations and improved CSA scores.
Drivers are prompted to review the previous inspection report when they log on to the system. Maintenance personnel can view the reports and verify repairs have been made online.
The electronic log function allows drivers to sign in using their existing driver ID on the in-cab device and automatically records HOS duty status information based on vehicle motion, vehicle location and miles driven. Roadside enforcement officers can view a driver’s log history on the in-cab display. The electronic DVIR reports are also available for inspection on the in-cab display.
The company said that both options are the result of a partnership with Innovative Software Engineering and integration of its eFleetSuite compliance with the OnlineAVL2 system.
