Michelin Launching OnCall 2.0, Offering More Than Emergency Tire Service
Michelin Truck Tires announced on Sunday at the American Trucking Associations Management Conference and Exhibition in Orlando, Fla., the launch of OnCall 2.0, an expansion of its OnCall emergency road service.

ORLANDO -- Michelin Truck Tires announced OnCall 2.0, an expansion of its OnCall emergency road service, which will offer what Michelin says is a “one call does it all” nationwide solution for fleets and owner-operators in need of breakdown assistance.
Starting in January 2014, OnCall 2.0 will feature mechanical and towing, in addition to its tire services, plus real-time breakdown monitoring, and tire event pictures, the company announced Sunday at the American Trucking Associations Management Conference and Exhibition in Orlando, Fla.
“Michelin’s emergency road service is now more than tires. OnCall 2.0 brings fleets peace of mind by providing consistent service, event transparency, and accountability for all breakdowns,” said Vic Koelsch, chief operating officer, Michelin Americas Truck Tires Division. “Every maintenance manager would like to be onsite at every breakdown event to manage it properly. On Call 2.0’s innovative tracking and reporting features allow the service manager to be there virtually and optimize their vehicle uptime.”
With its new mechanical breakdown services, customers can receive coverage for roadside repair for improved CSA compliance on lights, brakes, suspension work, jump starts, fuel delivery and lockouts. Diesel technicians are also available anytime to help identify potential issues and work with drivers to determine the most cost effective solution.
When towing services for Class 5 through 8 trucks are needed, OnCall 2.0 will arrange transportation of the truck to the customer’s location of choice. In the event of truck abandonment, it will provide secured storage and cleaning options.
