Yellow Global Offers Quotes and Shipping on the Web
Yellow Global of Overland Park, Kan., has introduced Global QBT, a web site that provides instant quotes on international shipments

Users can also book and track shipments on the site, hence the letters QBT -- quote, book and track.
"Until now, international shipping has been a complex, time-consuming job involving phone call after phone call," said John Yarwood, vice president of Global Operations for Yellow Global. "Global QBT is a dramatic improvement. Now transportation professionals have instant access to the entire shipping process online, from getting quotes, to booking shipments, to confirming delivery at destination. No more waiting or hoping for information."
Yellow Global is a division of Yellow Corp., which is a major investor in Transportation.com, the logistics technology company that designed the new site. Indeed, Yellow Global’s home page looks like a pared-down version of Transportation.com’s own all-business home page, including the drop down menu that asks visitors “Where do you want to go?”
Users don’t have to register for a quote. They simply fill in the on-screen form, which provides help along the way -- lists of ports around the world, for example. Shippers can look up both surface and air rates for comparison.
However, shippers must register to actually book transportation.
