XTRA Lease Surpasses 50,000 FleetView Tracking Installations
XTRA Lease, St. Louis, Mo., announced it has installed more than 50,000 trailer tracking units on its dry van trailers in the U.S. and Canada. According to XTRA Lease, it now has the industry’s largest fleet of tracking-equipped rental trailers

“We’re pleased to expand trailer tracking further into our fleet,” Franz added. “Our goal is to equip customers with the tools that lead to true asset management,” Bill Franz, CEO of XTRA Corp.
XTRA Lease became the first company to offer trailer tracking on its dry van rental fleet when it began installing FleetView on its trailers in 2000. The company also offers FleetView unit installations on dry vans and refrigerated trailers for long-term lease customers.
Earlier this year, the company acquired the trailer rental business formerly owned by CitiCapital’s Transportation Financial Services Group. XTRA Lease is installing trailer tracking on dry vans acquired in that deal.
XTRA Lease is the only company to offer trailer tracking service free on dry van rentals.
