Worldwide Equipment has increased its dealer network to 13 locations with the addition of General Truck Sales in Charleston, West Virginia.
Previously owned by Charles H. "Chuck" Haden III and O.D. Bush, the Volvo and Isuzu brand dealership will now carry Mack and Kenworth products as well. General Truck Sales has been in business since 1937.
"We felt that this would be a beneficial move for our employees and a great opportunity for General Truck Sales," said Chuck Haden, about the recent purchase. "We are looking forward to the future and its potential with a good organization."
Worldwide Equipment will integrate the operations into its dealer network, to operate as Worldwide Equipment - Charleston Division. This location will offer new and used truck sales, parts and service support, finance, insurance and leasing. Current staff will remain in place to continue offering the quality sales and service to the Charleston market, and Worldwide Equipment also anticipates looking to increase staff numbers as growth allows.
"We are excited about the customers, the products, and the employees in this location. And we are committed to providing the same level of quality service and support to Central West Virginia," Worldwide Equipment Chief Operating Officer, Scott Blevins, says. "The purchase of the South Charleston operation means positive growth, and we have high expectations for the newest addition to the Worldwide Equipment family."
Worldwide Equipment also operates 12 other full-service dealership locations, along with 20 parts and leasing stores, in West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio. Worldwide Equipment, established in 1967, is a leader in the industry with a network of 33 heavy and medium-duty truck dealerships, service centers, parts stores, and leasing locations located throughout the eastern US serving the Mack, Volvo, Kenworth, UD and Hino brands.
