Women In Trucking, a non-profit organization created to encourage the employment and success of women in the trucking industry, will be participating in numerous events at the Mid-America Trucking show this week.

President/CEO Ellen Voie, along with Membership Director, Char Pingel, will be available to meet with drivers, carriers and suppliers attending the Louisville event from Thursday through Saturday (March 19-21) in booth number 40565. "This will be the first year that we have exhibited at this show," said Voie, "and we are looking forward to meeting current and potential members at the event."

Voie will appear on the live, daily call-in show Freewheelin' with Meredith Ochs and Chris T. on Sirius XM Radio's Road Dog Trucking Radio (Sirus channel 147 and XM channel 171) live Friday at 1:30 pm ET at the Road Dog booth #16116 (North Wing).

"Chris and I are excited to talk to Ellen Voie. We want women in the trucking industry to know they have a place on Sirius XM's Road Dog Trucking Radio where they can voice concerns, seek advocacy and offer advice to other drivers," said Meredith Ochs, co-host of Freewheelin' with Meredith Ochs and Chris T.

Voie will make future appearances on Freewheelin' to explore the latest in women in trucking news and issues with Meredith Ochs, Chris T. and Road Dog's listeners across the country.

Members of Women In Trucking will be able to meet Voie and Pingel and many of the board members at an event held Friday evening, March 20 at 6 pm. in the show truck tent in lot J. This reception is hosted by the Internet Truckstop, Lancer Insurance, Navistar, and the Vertical Alliance Group. Anyone interested in learning more about the goals of the Women In Trucking association is invited to attend.

Women In Trucking Association's mission is to encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments and minimize obstacles faced by women in trucking. The organization, formed in March 2007, has grown to include nearly 1,200 members representing carriers, drivers, truck driver training schools and those interested in furthering the advancement of women in the industry.
