“These drivers will help the WIT Association advance our mission,” said Mark Roussea, director of Logistics and Transportation at Frito Lay and WIT board member. “In addition, the WIT Image Team will assist the industry in improving trucking’s image by changing perceptions about truck drivers and their jobs.”
Twenty-five applications were submitted to WIT for the image team. The number was narrowed down to ten finalists and then a selection committee interviewed them before choosing the five Image Team members.
The team was announced at the 6th annual Salute to Women Behind the Wheel hosted by Women In Trucking to honor female commercial drivers.
“These women are true pioneers for not just WIT, but for the trucking industry,” said Roussea. “We congratulate them on their selection to this very impactful role.”
