The trainer who saddles the winner of the Kentucky Derby next month will be handed the keys to an International RXT truck in recognition of that rare accomplishment.

The 133rd running of the Kentucky Derby, America's oldest continuously held sports event, is scheduled for Saturday, May 5 at Churchill Downs.
The presentation will mark the second consecutive year in which an International RXT truck has been presented to a member of the Kentucky Derby-winning team, and it reflects the continued growth of the commitment by the International Truck and Engine Corp. as a corporate partner for Churchill Downs and America's premier racing event.
An RXT truck was presented following last year's Derby to Lael Farm's Roy and Gretchen Jackson, the owners of 2006 Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro, following that colt's victory in the famed "Run for the Roses."
This year, International Truck and Engine will award the RXT to the trainer of the Derby winner. The truck, which will be built to the specifications of the winning trainer, carries a value of approximately $95,000.
The RXT is five-ton, 22-foot long commercial pickup truck introduced in 2005 by International. The winning Kentucky Derby owner will be presented with a special model that features a fifth wheel towing package for hauling horse trailers. This version of the International RXT was designed with the demands and needs of the horse industry in mind.
The International RXT is a 4 X 2 pickup truck that stands eight feet tall and seats five. It features an eight-foot bed, a towing capacity of more than 11 tons and commercial hydraulic brakes for stopping large loads or horse trailers.
