The widow of a man killed at an Albuquerque truckstop is suing the truckstop and its security firm.

Robert Tischmacher was shot and killed in an apparent robbery attempt while fueling at Love's truckstop and convenience store off I-40 in April 1999. Two local men were convicted of murder.
According to the Albuquerque Journal, Tischmacher's widow, Isabel, recently filed a lawsuit against Love's Travel Stops and Akal Security, claiming that the defendants should have done a better job of protecting customers in light of the history of crime at the location.
The lawsuit claims that in the four years before Tischmacher's death, there were more than 250 police reports regarding incidents at the truckstop. "Despite these outrageously high levels of crime, Love's never adequately responded to the known threat to customers," the lawsuit claims.
Representatives for the defendants expressed their sympathy for Mrs. Tischmacher but declined to comment on the allegations, reported the paper.
