Western Star Trucks has qualified for the ISO 9001:2000 quality standard of the International Organization for Standardization.

The certification follows an independent audit of Western Star's operations, management and quality systems.
The year 2000 version of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 standard is a consolidation of ISO 9001, 9002 and 9003. ISO 9001:2000 focuses on the systematic identification and management of the processes employed within an organization, and the interactions between these processes. Organizations seeking ISO 9001: 2000 certification must demonstrate that their business processes are designed to deliver continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. Areas such as internal communication, quality awareness, customer communication and departmental and functional objectives are audited, in addition to the traditional quality system areas of corrective actions, internal auditing and documentation control.
