Los Angeles-based The Dock, a web-based industrial equipment exchange, has announced that it secured more than 3,500 advance members, $1 billion in committed assets and 85,000 individual pieces of equipment at launch in December.

Among the equipment bought and sold on the site are trucks and trailers. Membership is free.
