A mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain stranded more than 100 tractor-trailers in western Kentucky Friday and led to accidents in other states.

A cattle truck overturned on Interstate 40 east of Oklahoma City, forcing a tricky roundup as the cattle divided into two herds, reports the Associated Press.
“It's pretty hectic out here,” said Connie Tillery, a manager at Bruce's OKC I-40 Travel Plaza in Choctaw, just east of Oklahoma City, where many truckers had parked their rigs to wait out the storm.
Many areas were getting their third snowfall in less than a week, including last weekend's storm that paralyzed parts of the Midwest. Up to 5 inches of snow fell in parts of Ohio overnight, coating highways that were just cleared.
In Kentucky, parts of several highways were closed as vehicles slid off the glazed highways. Many of the 100-plus 18-wheelers jackknifed and remained across driving lanes during the early morning hours.
The storm is pushing eastward this weekend. To the south of the snow, a large area of freezing rain and sleet is expected to hit from southern Illinois, along the Ohio River and into the central Appalachians.
