Volvo Trucks North America is giving truckers a chance to win a trip for two to the Bahamas and $10,000 in gold through the truckbuilder’s “Discover the Treasure” sweepstakes.

The theme of the sweepstakes is inspired by Walt Disney Picture’s upcoming movie, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” (in theaters July 7th). Volvo Trucks North America is publicizing the new movie as a way to continue the excitement created by the launch of Volvo’s flagship, the Volvo VT 880.
“Volvo has seen a huge amount of interest in the Volvo VT 880 from owner-operators, and we decided this would be a fun way to reward them for considering the VT 880,” said Scott Kress, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Volvo. “When contestants either call in or register online, they will receive a brief message describing our great new Volvo VT 880.”
In addition to the grand prize, Volvo Trucks North America is offering daily prizes of Volvo or movie-related merchandise, including Volvo driver’s jackets, Pirates of the Caribbean “prize chests” with movie passes and DVDs, watches and more.
“Discover the Treasure” is open to holders of commercial drivers licenses. No purchase is necessary.
Truck drivers can register to win online at www.volvotruckpromotions.com or by calling toll-free 866-57-PRIZE. Drivers can also register to win at the Volvo booth at the Mid-American Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky from March 23 to 25.
The promotion ends April 16. Entrants must be legal U.S. residents.
“Discover the Treasure” also builds upon the ongoing excitement created by the round-the-world Volvo Ocean Race. Disney is sponsoring one of the sail boats in the Volvo Ocean Race, “The Black Pearl.” The Volvo Ocean Race is a six-month adventure on the oceans of the world involving high-tech racing yachts, extreme conditions and unending challenges for the crews involved.
