Volvo Offering Continental Eco Plus Truck Tires
Continental Tire North America Inc., Charlotte, N.C., has announced that Continental Eco Plus truck tires are now a published option at all Volvo dealerships nationwide.

Professionals from the trucking industry will now be able to specify Continental’s Eco Plus line of tires when buying a Volvo truck.
"Rising fuel prices have increased the importance of finding ways to lower operating costs and improve the bottom line," said David Misbrener, CTNA account manager for Volvo North America. "Continental’s Eco Plus tire technology provides impressively low rolling resistance for excellent fuel economy and long original mileage."
Tests conducted at Continental’s Uvalde Proving Grounds (SAE fuel consumption test J1264) show that, with Continental HSL Eco Plus tires in the steer position and the HDL Eco Plus tires on the drive axle, fuel mileage increased up to 7.2% over conventional tires.
The six rib tread design of Continental’s HSL Eco Plus product not only provides long mileage and low rolling resistance, it also provides even pressure distribution for high resistance to irregular wear. This 16-ply steer tire features a unique button-and-ramp stone ejection system that helps eliminate stone retention and casing penetration. All Continental steer tires feature the innovative Visual Alignment Indicators (VAI‰) that allow the user to quickly identify wheel alignment problems before the tires becomes severely worn.
The Continental HDL Eco Plus provides both long original miles and low rolling resistance. The innovative lug angles on this closed shoulder premium drive tire provides even tread wear while also providing excellent traction in all types of weather conditions. Designed for long haul, over the highway use, the 16-ply HDL Eco Plus also includes a stone ejection system to reduce stone retention and casing penetrations.
