Volvo, Mack Truck Deliveries Up In North America

Deliveries from Volvo's truck operations, which includes Volvo Trucks, Mack Trucks Inc. and Renault Trucks, increased by 19% for the month of September, compared with the same month last year,
according to the Swedish builder.
PrimeZone Media Network said that on a year-to-date basis, deliveries amounted to 114,618 trucks, an increase of 1% compared with the same period last year. In Europe, deliveries declined by 4 % while North America increased by 8% compared with the same period last year.
Volvo Group delivered 29,077 units to North America this year, compared to 26,982 in 2001. Mack Trucks deliveries to North America year-to-date in 2002 totaled 17,543, compared to 16,625 last year.
On a 12-month rolling basis, total order intake for the truck brands declined by 2% compared to last year, with Europe at the same level and North America down 9%.
