A lagging heavy-duty truck market has forced Volvo Trucks North America to eliminate about 200 more jobs at its Dublin, Va., plant.

According to the Washington Times, the company estimates 200 salaried and hourly workers will lose their jobs Nov. 27. The plant will cut production of its VN truck series from 80 a day to 65.
Volvo has eliminated more than 1,100 jobs this year, and will have about 2,100 workers after the cuts.
"People expected it, but that doesn't make it any easier," said Bill Burton, president of the United Auto Workers Local 2069, whose members work at the
plant. "We had hoped we could get through the Christmas holiday season," he told the paper.
