VFS Insurance Group, the insurance division of the Volvo Group, has received licenses to sell insurance in 13 states, nearly nine months after unveiling a new name and approach.
VFS Insurance Group was created last August as the new designation for Volvo's worldwide insurance operations. The group includes Triumphe Casualty Company, Accelerated Reinsurance Company, Triumphe Life Insurance Company and VFS Insurance Services, and targets the commercial transportation industry.
In less than one year, the company has increased its reach across the U.S. by receiving its Property and Casualty licenses through Triumphe Casualty from a quarter of the nation's state regulatory commissions.
"With each state we add, the better we can develop a nationwide network of managing general agents," said Larry Weisberg, vice president of North American operations. "It is our goal to be in 40 states in the next three years."
VFS Insurance Group's Triumphe Casualty is now licensed to sell insurance in Arizona, California, Delaware, Indiana, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota and Texas.
VFS Insurance Group is a subsidiary of Volvo Financial Services, a multi-faceted financial organization dedicated to supporting the manufacturing operations of Volvo and its subsidiaries, including Mack Trucks and Renault VI. The insurance group was established to better attract customers across the entire transportation industry with a focus on the trucking industry.
VFS markets a product line that includes physical damage, cargo, liability coverages, GAP and term life insurance plans for businesses and individuals. Its physical damage packages come with Action Service, a 24/7 call center in which towing and repair services as well as claims can be processed immediately.
