Veteran Trucker Wins Great Big Rig Sweepstakes
Oral Perry of Pittsburg, Ill. was selected as the winner of the Great Big Rig Sweepstakes, a promotion of DaimlerChrysler Services (DCS) Truck Finance.
Oral Perry of Pittsburg, Ill. was selected as the winner of the Great Big Rig Sweepstakes, a promotion of DaimlerChrysler Services (DCS) Truck Finance.
Perry won a 2000 Freightliner Classic XL at a special ceremony during the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky., on Friday.
The Great Big Rig Sweepstakes was kicked off at last year's show to promote DCS remarketing center dealerships.
Throughout the year, the truck was taken on tour across the United States to dealer locations, open houses, trade shows and industry events. During this period, more than 6,000 people entered the contest. Six winners were selected. Five of these winners will receive Freightliner leather varsity jackets, while Perry, the grand prizewinner, drives home the 2000 Freightliner Classic XL.
Perry has been a driver for more than 25 years, buying his third truck in 2001. He has been an owner-operator since 1984 and currently drives for Landstar Systems.
