SiriComm Inc., an applications service provider and nationwide broadband wireless network operator serving the highway transportation industry has selected ValuePoint Networks' SuperAP access point for installation
at SiriComm Wi-Fi Hot Spots.
SiriComm will install the SuperAP 500IA-18, a rugged self-contained Power-over-Ethernet wireless access point combined with an integrated 18 dB flat-panel directional antenna. The access points support point-to-point and point-to-multipoint bridging modes for up to 6 bridging links with full TCP/IP routing capability and advanced security features for public hot spot applications.
Enclosed in a NEMA-style enclosure with moisture proof seals, the high-powered unit is ideal for long-distance outdoor applications similar to those found at truckstops, truck fleet terminals and weigh stations.
"We have been impressed and more than satisfied with the range, coverage and reliability of the SuperAP product," said Kory Dillman, executive vice president of SiriComm. "Using ValuePoint's SuperAP product we can cover our hot spot venues with fewer access points, thus lowering our cost of implementation and improving our return on investment."
"SiriComm is an excellent partner for us because the coverage and environmental demands created by the hot spot locations are a perfect example of where our products shine," said David Grissom, ValuePoint Networks' vice president of business development. "SiriComm challenged our product with rigorous testing and due diligence before selecting it, and we are thankful for that. We feel we always come out ahead when companies fully evaluate what is out there."
