Utility Picks Up Business For Lightweight Dry Van Trailer
Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company has announced that Mesilla Valley Transport and McNay Truck Line have added the 4000D-X Composite dry van trailer to their fleets

The 4000D-X Composite is made with a polyurethane foam core construction that structurally bonds the interior lining panels to the outside skin panels.
The 4000D-X Composite uses the same foaming technology of Utility's 3000R refrigerated trailer, making it a lightweight option.
"We were looking for a lightweight dry van with a 47,000-pound payload capacity for a major beer distributor and we were pleased that Utility's 4000D-X Composite met those requirements," said Royal Jones, president and CEO of Mesilla Valley Transport. "For several years we've worked closely with Utility Trailer Sales of Southeast Texas, Inc. to spec high quality, lightweight dry van trailers."
"The 4000D-X Composite dry van was specifically designed to address the complex needs of our customers," said Chuck Cole, Utility's manager of technical sales and product training.
Utility has an independent dealer network that works closely with each customer to evaluate and identify the industry's current demands.
"We have a great relationship with the sales team at Utility's St. Louis dealer, Craftsmen Trailer, LLC and they have been very helpful throughout the years in providing us with the right specs to maximize payload capacity," said Richard McNay, president and CEO of McNay Truck Line.
The 4000D-X Composite is made with a polyurethane foam core construction that structurally bonds the interior lining panels to the outside skin panels. This provides improved sidewall durability, strength and lowers the tare weight. Polyurethane is much lower in density than polyethylene core typically found in other plate trailers. The bonded foam typically results in a 400- to 500-pound lower tare weight, Utility says.
