Tom Horne of Pennsylvania-based Hunter Peterbilt was posthumously awarded the Marvin F Gordon Lifetime Achievement Award at this years 2012 Used Truck Association Convention.


Hornes wife Amy and his eldest son Samuel accepted the award on Toms behalf. Horne died in May at age 48 following complications from a stroke. He was used truck manager at the Butler, Pa., branch from 1995 until 1998 and then vice president of used trucks from 1998 until the present.

Toms performance throughout the years was outstanding, said Mike Conroy, Peterbilt director of dealer network development. He has served as an exceptional representative for Hunter Peterbilt, the used truck industry and exemplified Peterbilts commitment to class.

Each year, the UTA Marvin F Gordon Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has made numerous and significant contributions to the used truck industry. Horne was also nominated for this award at the 2010 convention.

It was a special moment for the leaders of the used truck industry to honor their mentor, colleague, and friend, said Jeff Hunter, CEO of the Hunter Family of Companies. Toms career was filled with accomplishments within the used truck industry and were proud he was part of the Hunter family.

Hunter Truck Sales & Service was founded in Eau Claire, Pa., in 1938 and now has locations in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.
