Under the new policy, drivers may choose to take their hometime at any time or location within the company’s approved network, arranging details with their driver managers.
“We continually evaluate feedback from our driving fleet, as well as from prospective and former team members, and hometime is a recurring topic,” said Russell Overla, executive vice president, truckload operations for USA Truck.
Competition for qualified drivers has increased and USA Truck believes it’s important to adapt to truckers needs.
“Drivers understandably want choices in how they manage their schedules - this gives them those choices,” said Overla. “Our Choose Your Hometime initiative is just one more enhancement that signifies us as a career destination.”
