USA Logistics Carriers LLC, a Texas-based carrier that specializes in serving the maquila industry, has chosen the patented Global Locating System (GLS) trailer tracking technology from SkyBitz
for more than 1,500 trailers in the U.S., Mexico and Canada.
USA Logistics Carriers chose SkyBitz to replace an existing trailer tracking platform that required the units to be installed inside the trailers – a process that increased downtime and operational inefficiencies. The SkyBitz GLS 200 units are easily installed on the outside of each trailer, alleviating the need to unload the trailer or unlock the door. By using the innovative SkyBitz Smart Sensor Tracking technology, the carrier is now also able to automatically filter out each trailer’s non-essential starts and stops and only receive reports on actionable information such as load arrival and departure times.
SkyBitz is a leading provider of Global Locating System (GLS) trailer tracking technology, which provides trucking companies with the ability to track un-powered assets using wireless satellite technology and centralized position calculations. The two-way GLS mobile communicator is compact, easy to install and provides multi-year battery life. More than 315 fleets currently rely on the cost-effective SkyBitz GLS technology to track more than 115,000 trailers and achieve total asset visibility, improve security, lower operating costs and enhance customer service. Headquartered in Sterling, Va., SkyBitz is a privately held company financially backed by Inverness Capital Partners, Motorola Ventures, AIG Highstar Capital and Cordova Ventures.
