Upgraded PTplace.com Opens for Business
SKF USA Inc. announced last week that companies seeking solutions associated with rotating-equipment technology and roller bearings can now go to an upgraded PTplace.co

portal that features product offerings from four premium brand manufacturers, including SKF USA Inc.
PTplace.com recently went live with improvements that facilitate faster, easier order entry and simplified customer interface.
PTplace.com is administered by CoLinx LLC, a joint venture founded by SKF, INS Holding Schaeffler KG, Rockwell Automation and The Timken Co. The portal features electronic storefronts representing each of the four founding companies. At the SKF storefront, for example, visitors can access the SKF engineering catalog and submit orders for a vast range of rotating-equipment products including ball and roller bearings, seals and shields, lubricants, bearing maintenance tools, shaft alignment equipment and fault detection devices.
Changes in the site eliminate unnecessary steps and reduce the time involved in entering and submitting purchase orders. Visitors to the SKF storefront, for example, can submit a purchase order in as few as two steps. Instructions are prominently displayed on tabs. Also, customers can now correct invalid part numbers without leaving the order entry screen. After an order is entered, the site automatically calculates the order’s weight and cost and provides shipping information.
Another upgrade is user customization. Visitors can now design the site according to their requirements, saving preferred settings and defaults. The site’s terminology has also been simplified and standardized.
In addition to the improved PTplace.com interface, CoLinx continues to offer its customers an array of transportation and logistics benefits. Orders from more than one CoLinx member can often be consolidated into a single shipment arriving on the same truck. CoLinx also operates a central warehouse and satellite facilities that expedite shipping and often make next-day coverage possible.
Of course, you'll fine PTplace at www.ptplace.com.
