Two leading providers of web-based technologies for maintenance and reliability management have joined forces to improve both data collection and reaction time to critical maintenance recommendations.
eMaint Enterprises, a leading provider of on-demand computerized maintenance management solutions (CMMS), and Polaris Laboratories, a leader in oil testing and data analysis services, will integrate critical oil analysis results directly into an organization’s maintenance management system – eMaint X3 – to significantly reduce reaction time to critical maintenance issues and improve overall reliability.
"Lubricants are the lifeblood of a piece of equipment and good analysis can tell you exactly what’s going on inside,” said Bryan Debshaw, Polaris CEO. "The real time flow of that information from the lab to the CMMS not only improves the data collection process, but can reduce the time it takes to act on critical maintenance recommendations. All of the information an equipment manager needs to make good maintenance decisions is in one place.”
Equipment lists and sampling schedules can be imported directly from Horizon, Polaris’ online reporting software, into eMaint X3 automatically integrating that information into the organization’s overall preventive maintenance schedule. Critical oil analysis results from Horizon can then instantly generate a work order in eMaint containing maintenance recommendations directly related to the sample results.
eMaint X3 users will simply click on a link to their Horizon data, view the latest oil analysis results and in a matter of a few keystrokes create and issue a work order. "Integration between oil analysis results and recommendations and maintenance management systems is an idea whose time has come, as companies continue to identify ways to maximize reliability," said Brian Samelson, president of eMaint Enterprises. "These types of integrations deliver on the promise of a comprehensive on-demand asset management system, taking advantage of everything the web has to offer, in an affordable easy to use product."
