The Truck Trailer Manufacturers Assn.’s board of directors recently voted to recommend using the P485 integrated circuit being developed by the PLC4TRUCKS consortium to provide the trailer ABS malfunction signal from the trailer to the tractor.
TTMA recommends the P485 integrated circuit electronic chip in the tractor to receive the trailer ABS malfunction signal. Using the P485 circuit to general the trailer ABS malfunction signal is said to provide compatibility with truck tractors.
TTMA further supports the recommendation that the signal be transmitted over the ABS power circuit and that the P485 integrated circuit used to generate the trailer ABS malfunction signal be incorporated into the trailer ABS electronic unit.
