The Transportation Sales & Marketing Assn. (TSMA) announces its 2004 Communication Awards Competition, which recognizes transportation professionals for their achievements in sales and marketing promotion.

The competition is an opportunity to showcase a company's advertising and marketing talents while competing with similar firms from across the United States and Canada. A panel of professional advertisers, artists and designers provides evaluations and critiques of each entry. Entrants use this valuable information to help them develop future marketing strategies and advertising pieces.
The competition is open to asset-based providers of transportation services and firms providing products and services to the transportation industry in the United States, Canada or foreign countries. Both members and non-members of TSMA are welcome to compete.
To be eligible, each marketing or advertising piece must have been used during the 2003 calendar year. Advertising or marketing pieces that won a previous TSMA competition can be re-entered if substantial changes have been made to the previous winning entry.
To ensure fair and relevant competition, entries from companies of similar size and resources are grouped together for judging purposes. Judging will be based on the overall effectiveness of each entry, how well it meets the stated objective within its category, and how its success compares to other entries within the category.
The categories for the competition are: 1) Audiovisual, 2) Print Advertising, 3) Public Relations, 4) Sales Literature, 5) Specialty Items, 6) Calendars, 7) Web Site, and 8) Overall Campaign.
Entries in each category will be recognized and the winners honored for their achievements at an award luncheon held during the March 28-31, 2004 TSMA conference, at the Wigwam Resort & Golf Club in Phoenix, Ariz.
Entries must be received by Friday, Jan. 16, 2004.
For complete contest rules and details on how to enter, visit www.tsmaonline.com, email communicationawards@tsmaonline.com, or contact John Rader at (770) 486-5869.
