One of the nation’s largest online sources of used and new trucks just got faster, easier and more efficient. Based on consumer focus groups and an analysis of how site visitors navigate its web pages, TruckTraderOnline.com has unveiled
a newly designed homepage with new search functions.
Norfolk, Va.-based TruckTraderOnline.com, which has a searchable database of more than 50,000 trucks – from light commercial vehicles to heavy-duty rigs – has added a new “quick search” feature to its home page. Using a formula based on the most popular searches performed on the site, the new function automatically narrows the list of criteria for users looking to search the site quickly for a truck or trailer.
Site visitors – who numbered 9.3 million and amassed 56.7 million page views in the last 12 months – also have “basic search” and “advanced search” options. For basic searches, prospective truck buyers need include only the truck’s manufacturer, a keyword and a geographic location, and TruckTraderOnline immediately displays the listings meeting those criteria. With the advanced search option – ideal for visitors with an even more specific idea of the truck they are looking for – truck buyers can hone their search by including such additional information as the price range, model, zip code, area code and the class of the truck, new or used.
Another new feature allows visitor to browse listings by choosing a specific manufacturer and viewing all the inventory on the site associated with that make (200 listings at a time). While 30 manufacturers are listed on the homepage, more can be found by clicking the “more” button, which links to a list of 296 truck and trailer manufacturers.
According to TruckTraderOnline, the new functions are not only good news for truck shoppers but also increase the site’s appeal to truck dealers, making their listings more accessible to the online buyer.
