Truckload Business Gauges on the Executive Dashboard
McLeod Software Corp., Birmingham, Ala., introduced a suite of new functionalities to its LoadMaster enterprise software

McLeod's Business Intellegence screen shot.
Called Business Intelligence Software Tools, the suite includes an Executive Dashboard Module, a Profitability Analysis Module and an Integrated Mapping Interface.
Each module is integrated with the LoadMaster system, providing a more efficient way of obtaining information from a carrier’s business.
The Executive Dashboard Module enables carriers to easily measure and monitor the complex key performance indicators at every level of the company. Fleet managers, dispatchers, and/or accounting personnel can track and monitor the vital statistics they are responsible for by configuring their own dashboard. The Executive Dashboard also utilizes management-by-exception settings to provide proactive color alerts and warning signals notifying the user of potential problems.
The Profitability Analysis Module allows carriers to pull information to determine the most profitable elements of the business. Profitability Analysis obtains information from operations in conjunction with a carrier’s general ledger revenue and expenses information, providing the ability to calculate profits by any or all customers, lanes, drivers or trucks.
The Integrated Mapping Interface provides carriers with the ultimate operations tool to improve their customer service. Dispatchers can see graphically loads and available trucks on a map. It provides complete information on the driver, tractor and/or load by the click of a mouse and indicates potential problems before they occur. Color alerts on building icons indicate the status of orders and color alerts on truck icons indicate if the carrier’s trucks are pre-assigned or late. Integrated Mapping allows the dispatcher to drill down geographically on a truck icon, down to the street level, to better determine the exact location of the truck. Mapping can be utilized to show specific loads to specific dispatchers, or a carrier’s complete fleet as a “war room” display.
