Truck World Show Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of New Communications Group Inc., announced today that it has completed its acquisition of the Truck World trade show from the Ontario Trucking Assn.
Financial terms were not disclosed. As part of the sale agreement, The Ontario Trucking Assn. and The Canadian Trucking Alliance, a federation of Canada’s seven provincial trucking associations, will endorse the event for the next 10 years.
Truck World Show Corp. President Jim Glionna said planning for Truck World 2004 would begin immediately. The show will be held in Toronto, with exact dates and venue to be determined in the coming weeks.
Glionna also announced that Master Promotions Ltd., based in Saint John, New Brunswick, will manage the day-to-day operations of Truck World 2004. Master Promotions Ltd. produces a number of trade and consumer shows, including The National Heavy Equipment Show, The Atlantic Truck Show and LogFor.
New Communications Group produces business-to-business publications serving the trucking, automotive and construction markets in Canada. Its trucking titles include Today’s Trucking, highwaySTAR, Transport Routier, Truck & Trailer and Truck & Trailer West.
"Our company specializes in bringing trucking industry suppliers and buyers together," Glionna said. "We do it in print, we do it electronically and now, with Truck World, we do it face to face. We’re committed to creating an atmosphere where exhibitors can come and do business. It’s a philosophy that will extend to the Truck World Show and make it a ‘must attend’ event".
Truck World was created by The Ontario Trucking Assn. in 1998 and is the largest exposition of trucking-related products and services in the country. It is held every other year.
