The American Truck Historical Society has moved its headquarters to Kansas City, Mo., from its previous home in Birmingham, Ala.

ATHS is a non-profit organization made up of people who love old trucks and the history of trucking-restored old trucks and unrestored old trucks; old trucks that run and old trucks that don't. ATHS collects and preserves the dynamic history of antique trucks and the trucking industry. Established in 1971, the association currently has more than 22,000 members in the US, Canada, and 20 foreign countries.
Its new Kansas City, headquarters has a library complex housing more than 100,000 vintage truck photos and more than 1,000 hardback books, films, videos and slides related to trucking. The library also contains 25,000 pieces of vintage truck sales literature, 30,000-plus vintage trucking magazines, 6,000 owner, repair and sales manuals, and numerous displays of trucking memorabilia.
ATHS will also hold its 2002 convention in Kansas City, May 30, 31 and June 1 at the KC Marriot Downtown and The American Royal Center.
