Truck Enterprises is celebrating its 50th Anniversary, and it recently hosted an open house.

Dwight Hartman, a Harrisonburg, Va., native, founded Truck Enterprises in 1962, as one of the first Kenworth truck dealers on the East Coast.
The company has grown to eight dealerships, representing four truck manufacturers (Kenworth, Volvo, Isuzu, Hino), and is led by Dwight Hartman's son, Jim Hartman, chairman, and John Harter, president and COO. The company also employs 350 people across the Mid-Atlantic.
Along with many other initiatives, Truck Enterprises is distinguishing their 50th year in business by marking each truck sold this year with a special emblem designating it as a 50th Anniversary Truck.
The company also awarded three scholarships in the amount of $1,000 to high school-age children of employees for continuing their education at the college level or a vocational-tech school.
