Truckers have a shot at cash and prizes this week during the truck beauty competition in Las Vegas during the International Trucking Show.
The Stars & Stripes Show & Shine competition heats up Thursday through Saturday at the Las Vegas Convention Center, where truck owners will compete to see who has the best-looking truck.
This year’s contest is being held inside, and show organizers say they have an unlimited amount of space for contestants in this competition, sponsored by Newport Communications, Chevron, Peterbilt, Bridgestone/Firestone, California Custom Products, Howes Lubricator Products, I-75 Chrome Shop (Wildwood, Fla.), Truck-Lite, Valley Chrome Plating (Clovis, Calif.), Wilson Antenna and IntraUSA.
Several $500 cash prizes will be handed out, including Best of Show combination and bobtail awards for working trucks. A new separate category has been created for professional show trucks with less than 75,000 miles in the past year, competing for Best of Show Professional awards for combinations and bobtails.
Awards will also be handed out in several class categories, with $100 and a plaque going to the first place winners and plaques for the second and third place winners.
Those attending the show will also be able to vote for their favorite truck, with the winner receiving $250.
Truckers have until noon Wednesday to enter at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
