Trebar Kenworth Marks 40th Anniversary
Trebar Kenworth in Boise, ID, recently marked its 40th anniversary during the dealership’s 12th annual Truck Trade Show at the Boise Convention Center
Trebar Kenworth in Boise, ID, recently marked its 40th anniversary during the dealership’s 12th annual Truck Trade Show at the Boise Convention Center.
“This year's event focused on technology, and how it impacts our businesses, our products and politics,” said Hatch Barrett, long-time president of Trebar Kenworth. “The purpose was to provide new information for our customers that will be beneficial to their operations and to thank them for their business.”
More than 400 customers from as far as 140 miles away viewed 42 supplier booths and 10 trucks on display, and heard talks on technology advancements and state legislative issues.
As part of the event's focus on technology, Kenworth General Manager Ed Caudill spoke to the group about the latest in trucking technology advancements.
“Technology has become pervasive throughout our industry … from truck manufacturer and supplier innovations … to the way fleets and owner-operators run their businesses … to the Internet revolution. Technology is changing – and will continue to change – the way we do business.”
Caudill noted that Kenworth assesses the potential viability of new technology products in the marketplace by asking: What’s the customer’s need? Will this technology provide cost-savings or other benefits to the customer? What comparable products are already available? What is the market's future direction?
“At Kenworth, we don't just add technology for technology’s sake; we add technology to provide benefits to you, the customer,” Caudill said.
He added that Kenworth also provides technology tools to dealers, such as Trebar Kenworth, to make it easier for customers to do business with their Kenworth dealership. These tools include the Internet Used Truck Locator, electronic parts and service information for fleets, and an electronic parts ordering system.
