TravelCenters of America (TA) has introduced the Watchin’ Out Menu to steer customers to healthy menu selections in restaurants at TA locations throughout North America.

“This is another instance of listening to our customers and providing additional services and amenities that make their visit to a TA travel center even more pleasurable,” said Paul Huckelberry, vice president of restaurants for TA. “Many drivers have told us they need guidance in identifying menu items that meet specific needs of their diet, so with the help of a dietician we have identified selections that are not only healthy but very appealing.”
Watching your cholesterol? Choices range from the Trucker’s Traditional breakfast to Sirloin Steak Dinner and from the Pancake and Egg Combo to Soup and Salad, each with less than 160 milligrams of cholesterol per serving.
Counting carbs? The Low Carb Breakfast, Chopped Steak & Eggs, Grilled Chicken Dinner, Better-for-You Blueberry Pie and other selections each come in at less than 10 grams of carbohydrates.
Same with sodium. The SoLo Breakfast, Two Eggs Breakfast, Grilled Chicken Salad and SoLo Sirloin Steak Dinner are among the menu items with less than 430 milligrams of sodium.
And when it comes to watchin’ fat and calories, the Light Breakfast, the Two Eggs Breakfast, Soup and Salad, Grilled Chicken Dinner, Sirloin Steak Dinner and other selections each contain less than 15 grams of fat and 500 calories.
