Transportation.com, Irvine, Calif., the logistics technology company, has formed an alliance with the Used Equipment Network of Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.
Used Equipment Network publishes directories of dealers and used capital equipment for sale, focusing on metalworking, chemical processes, electrical and material handling.
Through this alliance, more than 10,000 dealers will be able to use Transportation.com to ship anything worldwide. Dealers will review shipping quotes, tender shipments, create bills of lading and track shipments from a Web browser.
"Our dealers use our resources to sell approximately 50,000 pieces of equipment a year. Each piece requires highly reliable and often specialized transportation services," said Used Equipment Network publisher Jim Mack. "Our alliance with Transportation.com gives us a way to provide an essential value-added service to our dealers."
Transportation.com delivers its shipping service to the dealers through an application-programming interface. Dealers access the software over the Internet on Used Equipment Network's web site at www.buyused.com.
