Rand McNally's Transportation Data Management subsidiary has licensed TrueTrack with IntelliRoute to Transplace for use with their Dense Network Efficiency platform of services.
Rand McNally's TrueTrack with IntelliRoute solution will support Transplace's system by lending mileage and routes for completion of rate negotiation, route optimization, freight audit and payment, and other key elements of their comprehensive transportation logistics services. TrueTrack's GPS capabilities will allow for Track and Trace functions.
"Transplace's customers that already benefit from the DNE platform will be able to utilize the power of GPS tracking, route management, and rating capabilities provided by True Track with IntelliRoute to manage and track their operations for peak performance," said Shel Greenberg, general manager of Rand McNally TDM.
The Transplace DNE platform assembles the critical mass of freight and asset networks and applies optimization algorithms to search for the best matching of freight with carrier asset to increase load ration, and minimize empty miles and detention hours. Transplace links shippers and carriers together through a Web-enabled Internet portal, enabling collaboration and supply chain visibility.
Transplace was formed in July 2000 through the merger of the six logistics business units of the nation's largest publicly held truckload carriers: Covenant, J.B. Hunt, M.S. Carriers (since merged with Swift), Swift Transportation, U.S. Xpress and Werner Enterprises.
