A major supplier of traditional EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) services has linked up with an Internet newcomer to offer a complete Internet-based transportation management system.
TranSettlements Network Services of Atlanta, a provider of EDI and other transportation information services for more than a decade, has announced a partnership with eShip Inc., Boulder, CO, to provide a complete Internet-based transportation management system called eShip.
EShip Inc. is one corporated entity associated with InVantage Inc., of Boulder, CO, which opened its doors in 1995 and now offers a Internet-based transportation management solution called eShip.com. Transettlements focuses its marketing efforts on Fortune 1000 companies; eShip was originally aimed at smaller companies. According to a Transettlements press release, however, “several Fortune 1000 companies are already utilizing eShip.”
The eShip service is one of several e-commerce applications available through Transettlement’s Internet-based business-to-business e-commerce suite, called aspEC. eShip is a business-to-business e-commerce solution, which allows shippers (manufacturers, retailers and distributors) to manage their entire logistics process in real-time providing rating, tendering, tracking, invoicing, reporting, and EDI for truckload and less-than-truckload shipments.
