The Meritor Tire Inflation System by PSI was selected by Pavestone Co. as its tire inflation system on trailers recently purchased from Transcraft Corp. The order included Transcraft’s 100,000th trailer,
a TL-2000H 45-foot by 102-inch tandem slider, and was delivered to Pavestone during a celebration marking this milestone event. Pavestone specifies MTIS on all their trailer purchases because of the cost savings the company said it experienced using the system.
MTIS, by constantly monitoring air pressure and maintaining the proper tire inflation, maximizes tire life and reduces maintenance costs associated with under-inflated tires. Pavestone sees a substantial fuel savings since MTIS allows every trailer tire to maintain the manufacturer’s tire inflation recommendation.
The Meritor Tire Inflation System by PSI, the most widely-used automatic tire inflation system in the commercial vehicle industry, is a robust, simple design easily installed on any type of trailer, including van, liquid tank, logger, flat bed, chassis, livestock, platform, drop frame, dump, deep drop, doubles, dry bulk, reefer, auto transporter, and military.
