TransCore's GlobalWave Interfaces with McLeod Software
TransCore's GlobalWave in-cab satellite-based mobile communications and asset tracking system is now compatible with McLeod Software for transportation management solutions
TransCore's GlobalWave in-cab satellite-based mobile communications and asset tracking system is now compatible with McLeod Software for transportation management solutions.
The integration also allows GlobalWave satellite trailer tracking customers to view their equipment positions from within McLeod Software's LoadMaster enterprise management software.
"Through this alliance with McLeod Software, TransCore substantially enlarges its customer reach," said David Sward, TransCore's GlobalWave general manager. "Customers need their information and communications systems to work together to enhance customer service and improve efficiency."
"We value our relationship with TransCore," said Rick Halbrooks, vice president of sales and marketing for McLeod Software, "and we welcome them as integration partner with our LoadMaster Mobile Communications Symphony interface.
"Combining the two applications," Halbrooks continued, "will enable our customers to better track and manage their vehicle fleets and obtain vital fleet information, which improves asset utilization, increases ROI and maximizes efficiency."
GlobalWave uses GPS and satellite communication technology, combined with a simple and accessible Web-based interface, requiring no software downloads, that allows carriers to locate trucks and communicate with drivers from anywhere the Internet can be accessed. The 100 percent satellite based, easy-to-use in-cab messaging unit has pre-programmed response messages for the driver and is ruggedly built to withstand the demanding in-cab environment. Operational data capture or fleet management, the newest enhancement, keeps track of vehicle use and performance, including engine rpms, idle time, odometer readings, speed and engine temperature. Users can select up to eight different engine codes to monitor performance on an exception basis. Installation of the GlobalWave equipment is quick and simple and can be done in as little as 15 minutes.
Through the integration, GlobalWave will allow users to send preformatted dispatch forms, such as pickup and delivery instructions or free form messages, directly from their dispatch software. These forms eliminate the need for typing long text messages and thus expediting the communication process. For GlobalWave's fleet management customers, automated fuel tax reporting is provided to significantly streamline the reporting process, and TransCore's fuel tax monitoring service is provided free of charge.
