TransCore,of Beaverton, Ore., has released Version 2.14 of Keypoint Logistics, transportation management system software for third-party logistics providers.
In Version 2.14, Transcore introduces a new events module that automatically e-mails, faxes or triggers a third-party application to notify business partners of a change in shipment status. The upgrade also meets EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) standards for messages among business partners.
Keypoint Logistics integrates functions for accounting, dispatch, and operations in a single system and is capable of handling multiple modes of transportation, including air, rail, truckload, less-than-truckload, LTL consolidation, intermodal segment planning and international freight. Keypoint Logistics is Windows-based and stores business data on an Oracle server at the customer's site.
Keypoint offers software specifically designed for brokers, carriers or 3PLs in licensed versions. Keypoint can also be deployed for carriers and brokers on a 7-inch by 7-inch server appliance, a unique out-of-the-box system that simply plugs into existing computers or networks but is paid for on the subscription model made popular by ASPs (Application Service Providers) that offers software use over the Internet. Keypoint?s appliance, plugged in on the user?s site, does not rely on the Internet.
