TransCore Releases Second Produce Report Tracking Reefer Activity
TransCore released its second in a series of free monthly DAT Produce Reports. Rates this past month rose on the whole
TransCore released its second in a series of free monthly DAT Produce Reports. Rates this past month rose on the whole.
The report combines spot market freight rates from the company's Truckload Rate Index with seasonal and regional data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
This month's report includes an analysis of refrigerated van movements from key produce growing markets in Goldsboro, N.C., Valdosta, Ga., Jackson, Miss., Amarosa, Colo. and Fresno, Calif. With the exception of Valdosta and Fresno, rates in these regions rose an average of 2.5% from June 22 to July 26.
The report covers the largest lane rate increases and decreases from the five produce markets to the top 10 U.S. destinations, the ratio of refrigerated freight loads to available trucks by state, and the USDA's advisory on truck availability in each market.
Spot market rates are rates paid to the carrier by freight brokers and other freight intermediaries. A more complete report of weekly and monthly rate trends can be found on TransCore Trendlines.
