TransCore Offers PeopleNet's Wireless Fleet Solution With Keypoint Software
TransCore has announced that it now offers Keypoint for Carriers transportation management system (TMS) software with PeopleNet Communications Corp.'s wireless fleet solution
TransCore has announced that it now offers Keypoint for Carriers transportation management system (TMS) software with PeopleNet Communications Corp.'s wireless fleet solution.
The interface with PeopleNet will enable carrier customers' operations and driver personnel to communicate more effectively and efficiently.
For example, dispatchers can communicate via two-way messaging with drivers using the PeopleNet Wireless Network. With PeopleNet's two-way messaging functionality, dispatchers can elect to create a free-form message for drivers, or use pre-defined standard messages that fill in all pertinent information automatically.
Drivers can conduct automatic checkcall with dispatchers using Keypoint's interface with PeopleNet, eliminating the need for operations personnel to manually update pickup or delivery load status when drivers call in. Users of Keypoint can also query the location of a truck, and will receive via PeopleNet the location, distance from the closest town.
"TransCore consistently offers customers choices in how to use and maintain our Keypoint transportation management software, whether it's our new interface with PeopleNet or the industry's first server-appliance model that we created with Sun's Cobalt Qube 3," said Joel McGinley, TransCore Commercial Services general manager.
