Trans-Soft Inc., a major software development company for the freight forwarding and logistics industry, said its clients who are also customers of Freight Force Inc.,
a network of 33 agents in the continental U.S. who provide cartage freight service to airfreight forwarders, will receive automated status updates to their Trans-Soft TS2000 Plus databases.
The working relationship between Trans-Soft and Freight Force provides an easier and more efficient method for their mutual customers to obtain the status of their shipments.
“The joint venture offers customers of both companies the opportunity for real-time electronic exchange of shipment information to improve their ability to track, trace and monitor shipments,” said Dave Hockersmith, president of Trans-Soft. “Freight forwarders who utilize the services of both companies benefit by being able to upload real-time shipment data into their existing database.”
The Freight Force, Inc. operations system disseminates forwarders’ shipment status via the Web, directly to Trans-Soft’s database. As a result, forwarders who utilize Trans-Soft’s TS2000 Plus operating software to track shipments will also have real-time access to information about shipments handled by Freight Force, Inc. Trans-Soft’s TS2000 Plus operational software provides the internal productivity enhancements that are necessary to sustain and manage any significant growth companies experience.
“A forwarder using Trans-Soft’s TS2000 Plus database, and any one of the Freight Force Inc. nationwide locations, can use the Trans-Soft software modules to see when an agent makes a pick up, has a shipment on a truck in transit or makes a delivery, without ever having to pickup the telephone,” said Laurie Hamid, vice president of Freight Force Inc. “Utilizing technology to speed communications, reduce telephone and fax bills and having information available via the Web without the constraints of time zones, are some of the key benefits to the forwarding community.”
