TRALA Elects Robert Shingle as 2006-2007 Chairman

PRIMMS LP President Robert Shingle of Lisle, Ill., was unanimously selected by the members of the Truck Renting and Leasing Association as its 2006-2007 chairman at the association’s 2006 annual meeting in San Diego, Calif.
“Prior to assuming the TRALA chairmanship, Bob was already recognized as a strong leader within our industry – demonstrated both through his individual business success and commitment to industry-wide priorities. He is ready to begin tackling the issues that will impact our industry in the future,” said TRALA President and CEO Peter Vroom.
In addition to Shingle, the TRALA board of directors elected the following members as officers:
• Charles Sommer, president of Public Service Truck Renting in Long Island City, N.Y., was elected vice chairman.
• James Rosen, vice president of government relations of Penske Truck Leasing Co. in Reading, Pa., was elected second vice chairman.
• Reed Murphy, president of MHC Truck Leasing Inc. in Kansas City, Mo., was elected secretary.
• Frank E. Walter, president of Palmer Leasing Group in Indianapolis, Ind., was elected treasurer.
• Mark Siegal, president of Edart NationaLease in Hartford, Conn., was elected immediate past chairman.
Also at the annual meeting, the following members were elected to the association’s 2004-2007 board of directors:
• Ralph West, vice president of Rush Enterprises Inc. in San Antonio, Texas.
• Tony Tegnelia, president, U.S. Fleet Management of Ryder System, Inc. in Miami, Fla.
To fill two vacancies on the 2005-2008 board, the members elected:
Stephen Scully, president of Scully NationaLease in Barre, Vt.
Ken Seng, president of Seng Truck Leasing in Elk Grove Village, Ill.
And to fill the new 2006-2008 board term, the following members were elected:
Tom Brown, president of Brown NationaLease in Des Moines, Iowa.
Bill Hicks, president of First Lease, Inc., a NationaLease Member in Norcross, Ga.
Mark Siegal, president & CEO of Edart NationaLease in Hartford, Conn.
Charles Sommer, president of Public Service Truck Renting in Long Island City, N.Y.
J.T. Taylor, executive vice president of U-Haul International in Phoenix, Ariz.
Tom Thayer, president of Idealease of Richmond in Richmond, Va.
Terry Young, president and CEO of Advantage Truck Leasing in Charlotte, N.C.

The Truck Renting and Leasing Association, based in Alexandria, Va., is a voluntary, nonprofit national trade association, organized in 1978 to provide a unified and focused voice for the truck renting and leasing industry. TRALA's membership includes more than 500 leasing and rental firms and 110 suppliers that make up nearly the entire truck renting and leasing industry. The industry is responsible for over 35 percent of all new Class 3 through 8 commercial truck registrations.
