Total Quality Logistics begins its $1 per load Memorial Day fundraising campaign Monday, May 14. May 14-20, one dollar from every load TQL arranges will be donated to the Yellow Ribbon Support Center and the Let Us Never Forget Scholarship Fund.
This is the fourth year that TQL has run this fundraising event, which has raised nearly $25,000 for these two organizations to date. The money is used to defray costs toward shipping tens of thousands of care packages to service men and women and to provide scholarships to graduating seniors who attend a college or university a fallen soldier attended.
"Members of the military possess extraordinary skill sets that translate perfectly into the fast-paced and constantly-changing work of transportation logistics," says TQL Sales Recruiter, Matthew Disher. "They have an outstanding work ethic, they are quick to learn new skills, and they find success in any situation,"
Disher, a Marine Corps veteran himself, will take part in an Ohio Air National Guard refueling mission, Thursday, May 10, 2012. Disher will be one of 25 Cincinnati business members to travel to Columbus, Ohio, for the flight, coordinated by the Cincinnati chapter of the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves. The goal of the experience is to expose employers to what the National Guard does and encourage employer support of National Guard employees and discharged veterans.
TQL recently won a Patriot Award for its support of employees in the Guard and Reserves.
