TMW Forms Development Team, Seeks Technology Patent
TMW Systems Inc., Beachwood, Ohio, has formed a new research and development group, the PACE (Profitability and Client Efficiency) Tea

to develop new products and services.
The company has also applied for it newest produce called ResultsNow by TMW. TMW’s new PACE Team will operate independently and will be free to pursue clearly identified needs in the trucking industry, unencumbered by ongoing operational responsibilities. The company’s existing product development group supports and enhances current products.
“The mission of the PACE Team is very straightforward: develop cool new products at the speed of light,” explains Tom Weisz, TMW president and CEO.
Meanwnhile, the company has applied for a U.S. patent to cover the PACE Team’s initial project, ResultsNow by TMW.
ResultsNow is a combination of consulting services and proprietary software that provides trucking company management with constant visibility of real-time key performance indicators. Continuous up-to-date information on company performance in critical areas enables owners and managers to make sound decisions quickly.
“It doesn’t make any sense to wait for the end of the month when you get your profit and loss statement and say, ‘What happened?’ We need to know what is happening on a real-time basis. ResultsNow is a very easy measuring tool for someone to understand if we are having problems,” said Joe Cowan, Cowan Systems president.
According to TMW, Cowan Systems was one of the first carriers to use ResultsNow. Cowan is a short-haul, regional truckload carrier covering East Coast and Mid-Atlantic states.
In a departure from TMW’s traditional R&D approach, the PACE team offers technical consulting services for developing customized solutions. “As long as the situation is one where we can apply our technical and transportation expertise, we’ll take on custom software development projects,” explains David Mook, chief technical officer, and leader of the PACE team.
