The Transportation Marketing & Communications Association (TMCA) recently announced the recipients of the 2006 Compass Awards.
The awards program recognizes organizations in North American transportation and logistics that have created an effective strategic marketing or communications program. Compass Award recipients were honored at a formal gala May 23, the final event of TMCA's Annual Conference and Expo at the Keystone Lodge in Keystone, Colo.
“The Compass awards program is important because it raises the standards of professionalism and marketing effectiveness in our industry,” according to Tom Nightingale, vice president of corporate marketing for Schneider National and chairperson of the 2006 Compass awards program
This year, TMCA received 200 entries from 72 organizations. Nearly 13 percent of those entries received awards of excellence and 31 percent received awards of merit. The highest honor, “Best of Show,” is awarded to only one organization with the highest score received overall.
