The Transportation Marketing & Communications Assn. (TMCA) has elected Ray Venturino as its new president.
Venturino is assistant vice president of P&O Nedlloyd-North America, a liner shipping and logistics company.
He began his new leadership role July 1 and will remain president until July 1, 2004.
"Mr. Venturino has the leadership to help TMCA achieve its goal of providing professional development, education and networking opportunities for marketing and communication professionals in our industry," said Brian Everett, TMCA's executive director. "He is a visionary who has served on the TMCA board of directors for the past four years, and we're pleased to have him now at the helm."
"My goal as president is to continue to grow membership while increasing value to TMCA members," said Venturino. "TMCA plays a valuable role for the marketing, sales and communications professions in the transportation industry, and this association will be able to provide more value in this critical role as it gains and retains more members."
Currently, TMCA has more than 200 members in various market segments, ranging from motor carrier, railroads, air carriers and steamship lines to technology companies, third-party logistics providers, port authorities and passenger transit organizations.
Founded in 1924, TMCA and its predecessor organizations have provided products and services to this market for more than 75 years.
